Hip Replacement Surgery

Hip replacement surgery is one of the most successful surgical interventions available. It can significantly relieve pain and restore mobility, allowing patients to return to a high level of function.

All the surgical implants Richard uses are tried and proven.

Having undertaken further state-of-art joint reconstruction training, Richard is well-versed in:

  • minimally invasive techniques

  • resurfacing surgery

  • computer-assisted surgery

  • complex reconstructions for extensive bone loss, infection, deformity, tumour reconstruction, etc

  • revision surgery

Priding himself on patient care and outcome, Richard achieves well above the national average for successful outcomes when compared to all the New Zealand Orthopaedic Surgeons on the NZ National Joint Replacement Registry. Richard has also introduced many firsts in the Nelson region, providing some of the latest and most current aspects in reconstruction.
