Sports Surgery

Richard has successfully helped many athletes back to the highest level of competition. Specialising in sports surgery to the knee, Richard’s expertise extends to:

• arthroscopic (keyhole) and traditional open surgery

• meniscal repair

• ligament stabilisation surgery (including ACL reconstruction, patella stabilisation etc)

• realignment procedures.

Richard works closely with the local GP’s and physiotherapist’s providing surgical support to sports teams and the Nelson community. He performs ACL reconstruction with multiple different graft options to ensure the right graft selection for each patient.

Here in Nelson, Richard maintains a high volume of knee arthroscopy and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. He has successfully helped many athletes back to the highest level of competition and is a member of the New Zealand Knee and Sports Society.
